The exact stack and strategy I used to build a profitable SaaS without writing much code.

From Idea to $10K MRR in 6 Months

What's up builders! Lisa here. Last year I was a burned-out developer. Today I run a profitable SaaS that practically runs itself. Here's exactly how I did it with n8n and no-code tools.

The Backstory

I kept seeing the same problem everywhere: Small businesses drowning in customer reviews across 20 different platforms. They'd miss negative reviews for days, losing customers.

My solution? ReviewRadar - an automated review monitoring and response system.

The Tech Stack (Total Cost: $89/month)

Here's what powers a $10K/month business:

  • Frontend: Webflow ($29/month)
  • Backend Logic: n8n self-hosted on Hetzner ($20/month)
  • Database: Supabase ($25/month)
  • Payments: Stripe (2.9% + 30¢)
  • Email: SendGrid ($15/month)
  • Analytics: Plausible (included in Webflow)

That's it. No AWS bills. No DevOps nightmares.

The MVP in 2 Weeks

Week 1:

  • Built the landing page in Webflow
  • Set up Stripe checkout
  • Created the database schema in Supabase

Week 2:

  • Built the core n8n workflow (more on this below)
  • Connected everything together
  • Launched to 10 beta users

The Magic n8n Workflow

This single workflow does EVERYTHING:

  1. Monitors Reviews (every 30 minutes):

    • Google Business
    • Yelp
    • Facebook
    • TripAdvisor
    • 15+ other platforms
  2. Analyzes Sentiment:

    • Uses OpenAI to determine if positive/negative/neutral
    • Extracts key themes
    • Detects urgent issues
  3. Takes Action:

    • Negative review? Instant SMS + email to owner
    • Drafts a response template
    • Creates a task in their system
    • Updates analytics dashboard
  4. Learns and Improves:

    • Tracks which responses work best
    • Suggests improvements
    • Monthly reports on review trends

Getting the First 100 Customers

No fancy growth hacks. Just:

  1. Local Facebook Groups: "Hey, I built this tool for local businesses..."
  2. Cold Email: 10 personalized emails per day to restaurants
  3. Free Trial: 14 days, no credit card
  4. Case Studies: Showed how Customer #1 saved a $2K/month client

Month 1: 8 customers Month 3: 47 customers
Month 6: 127 customers at $79/month average

The Numbers That Matter

  • Customer Acquisition Cost: $23
  • Lifetime Value: $1,847
  • Churn: 3.2% monthly
  • Profit Margin: 91% (yeah, really)
  • Time Spent: 10 hours/week

Lessons Learned

1. Start embarrassingly simple My first version only monitored Google reviews. That's it. But it solved a real problem.

2. Let n8n do the heavy lifting I could've coded all this. But why? n8n handles the complex stuff while I focus on customers.

3. Charge more than you think I started at $29/month. Customers said "that's it?" Now it's $79-199/month.

4. Support is your moat Competitors can copy features. They can't copy giving a damn about customers.

What's Next?

We just hit $12K MRR and hired our first support person. The goal? $50K MRR by year-end without writing more code.

New features coming:

  • AI that learns each business's "voice"
  • Competitive review analysis
  • Integration with POS systems

Your Turn

Stop overthinking. That idea you have? Someone needs it. Here's your playbook:

  1. Find a painful, specific problem
  2. Build the simplest solution possible
  3. Charge money from day 1
  4. Use n8n to automate everything
  5. Talk to customers constantly

The tools exist. The playbook is proven. What's stopping you?

Question for you: What's the ONE manual task businesses do that drives them crazy? That's your SaaS idea. Build it this weekend.

Let's goooo! 🚀
